About CremaSpecs
CremaSpecs is a database of espresso machines and grinders sold in the US, written up as reviews, comparisons, and buying lists. Every number on it has a source and a date. The site exists because the numbers that decide a purchase, what a machine really costs in its first year, how often owners report leaks, how long warm-up takes outside the brand's brochure, are scattered across manuals, store pages, video reviews, and forum threads. We put them in one place and show where each came from.
Who writes it
Kirill Gissa runs CremaSpecs: keeps the database current, checks the sources, and writes the guides. Photo and LinkedIn are in the author box at the bottom of every page. One person writes and maintains the site; there is no editorial team behind the name.
What's different here
- Every number is sourced and dated. A price shows the store and the day we checked it. A spec shows the manual revision. A heat-up time shows which reviewer measured it, with what, and when.
- Measurements come from named reviewers, not from us. We log what independent video reviews measured and show the range next to the brand's claim. When two reviewers disagree, you see both numbers.
- Complaints are counted, not summarized. We read owner reviews and forum threads from the last 24 months and report how many mention each problem, with quotes you can follow to the source.
- The score is built by rules. Five points, each scored from database fields, the same way for every machine. Commission can affect which machine we feature, never its score. The method is public: How we research.
- Machines without a partner store are still here. They are rated and listed; they just don't get a “Check price” button, and the page says so.
As of October 16, 2026: 103 machines from 39 brands, 15 with at least one independent measurement, 7,340 owner reviews read.
What CremaSpecs covers
- Home espresso machines — semi-automatic, prosumer, and super-automatic machines from $98.99 to $6,600, with a review per model and buying lists by budget and type.
- Espresso grinders — burr type and size, single dosing, and which grinder the manual of each machine assumes you'll buy.
- Care and repair — descaling, backflushing, parts, warranty rules, and when a repair costs more than a replacement.
- Commercial machines — for cafés, offices, and carts: electrical, water, and drain requirements from the spec sheet, and which models carry an NSF listing.
We add a section only when we can cover it the same way: specs from manuals, prices from stores, measurements from reviewers, complaints from owners. Sections that aren't here yet aren't here because that data hasn't been collected, not because the machines don't matter.
How the site earns money
Affiliate commissions, and nothing else: no advertising, no sponsored posts, no products of our own. When you buy through a marked link, the store or brand pays us a percentage. Details, including which programs pay us and which brands we cover with no partnership at all, are on the affiliate disclosure.
