Ninja Luxe Café Premier Review
One espresso machine, price not available. The Ninja Luxe Café Premier Series 3-in-1 espresso machine (ES601) makes espresso, drip-style coffee, and cold brew, and doses beans by weight with a built-in scale. We couldn't log a current US price on October 17, 2026. James Hoffmann confirmed the dosing within 0.5 g, but its “cold brew” runs at about 100°F. It suits a household that wants one machine for several kinds of coffee.

Who it suits
anyone who wants espresso, a big mug of drip-style coffee, and iced drinks from one box, with the machine weighing the dose for you.
you want a longer warranty: Ninja gives one year, Breville's Barista Express Impress two. Skip it too if you want a dedicated espresso machine to learn on; reviewers found the grinder and ratio settings are where it struggles.
Specs and claimed vs measured
Ninja publishes features rather than performance figures. The reviewer column draws on six videos of this model. Two newer instrumented reviews turned out to cover the Luxe Café Pro, a different model, so we left their numbers out.
| Ninja says | Reviewers recorded | |
|---|---|---|
| Dosing | weight-based, built-in scale | about 17.5 g, within 0.5 g, checked with an external scale (James Hoffmann) |
| Shot yield | set by strength level | meant 36–40 g, ran to 50 g on an EU unit (Coffee Kev) |
| Drip coffee in the cup | Not stated | 163°F (73°C) for a 10 oz cup, thermometer not named (Tom's Coffee Corner) |
| Cold brew | cold brew program | about 100°F (38°C) during the brew (Tom's Coffee Corner) |
| Steaming | Dual Froth System | about 1 min 25 s by hand, including a 15–20 s wait for steam; milk volume not given (Tom's Coffee Corner) |
| Pressure and warm-up | Not stated | no reviewer measured either on this model |
The weighing works. James Hoffmann added 4 g of adhesive putty to the hopper mid-grind and the machine came out about that much short, which shows it doses by weight rather than time. In Tom's Coffee Corner's side-by-side, the US unit was more consistent in yield than Breville's Barista Express Impress.
The ratio setting is the weak point on some units. Coffee Kev says the strength setting on EU-spec machines, the reviewer's own included, didn't deliver the ratio it promised. On camera, a shot meant to stop at 36–40 g ran to 50 g.
Real price: MSRP, street price, tax and shipping
We couldn't log a current US price on October 17, 2026: Ninja's US sites blocked our checks. We found no Amazon listing for it. Add sales tax, which varies by state.
Where to buy
Ninja sells the Premier on its own site. Owner reports point to warehouse clubs too, but we couldn't confirm current listings at other stores. Because the warranty is short, the seller's own return window matters more than usual; check it before you buy.
Warranty, returns and support
Ninja's product page lists a “One 1 Year Limited Warranty.” We couldn't read Ninja's return policy.
Owners' experiences with replacements vary: one wrote “I actually had 2 entire united get replaced under warranty (which each took like 2 months each time, thanks Ninja), and our 3rd one didnt last a year, but it sucks since the warranty was only 6 months for that one.” (r/superautomatic, August 25, 2026). Another wrote “I had a good time with my Ninja Luxe Premier machine but due to a technical issue I received a replacement machine. The support was super quick!” (r/espresso, September 19, 2026).
Built-in grinder and Barista Assist
The built-in conical burr grinder has 25 settings, and Ninja's Barista Assist suggests settings and weighs each dose. The grinder is also where the reported problems cluster. Anton Novikov returned two units because the grinder couldn't grind the reviewer's beans. Coffee Kev relays owner reports of the plastic dosing funnel cracking; Ninja answered with a sturdier replacement part.
For a 10 oz drip-style coffee, Tom's Coffee Corner saw the machine dose 20.5 g at grind setting 7.
Drip coffee and cold brew
Beyond espresso, the Premier brews drip-style coffee and cold brew. Tom's Coffee Corner read 163°F in a 10 oz cup, without naming the thermometer.
The cold brew is quick, not cold. Tom's saw about 100°F during the brew, after the machine first asked for a rinse because the boiler was too hot, and James Hoffmann described it as “about body temperature.” Pour it over ice.
Steam wand and hands-free frothing
The Dual Froth System steams and whisks milk hands-free, and you can also steam by hand. Tom's Coffee Corner steamed by hand for about one minute 25 seconds in all, including 15–20 seconds before steam came. The stopping temperature was a guess, not a reading.
One quirk to know: Anton Novikov found a clogged steam wand triggers an unrelated sensor error, which took 10 minutes to trace. Clearing the wand after each use avoids it.
Ninja Luxe Café Premier vs Breville Barista Express Impress
Tom's Coffee Corner compared it directly with Breville's Barista Express Impress. The Ninja adds drip coffee and cold brew, and weighs doses with a scale; the Breville has a longer warranty and a manual steam wand.

Size and power
The Premier runs on 120V at 1,650W. Ninja lists it at 15.75 L × 15.24 W × 20.51 H in; its spec list shows an obviously wrong weight, so we don't quote one.
What owners say
We found no Amazon listing for the Premier, so there's no marketplace rating to cite. We read 363 Reddit posts and comments from November 7, 2024 to October 6, 2026; two (0.6%) described a failure. One site isn't enough for a complaint index, so treat that as a lower bound.
What owners complain about
On Reddit, owners mentioned brew unit faults twice, and grinder and pump faults once each, too few to call a pattern. In video reviews, the grinder and the ratio setting drew the specific complaints.
What owners praise
Owners like the results: one wrote “even the first cup of coffee from the Ninja is way better than any lattes at Starbucks!” (r/espresso, July 4, 2026). A search of r/espresso returned 291 posts about the Luxe Café from November 29, 2025 to October 6, 2026, two of which described a breakdown. Our beginner picks cover other easy starting points.
Questions people ask
Is the Ninja Luxe Café Premier worth it?
It is if you'll use all three modes: espresso, drip-style coffee, and cold brew, with dosing by weight that a reviewer confirmed. Compared with Breville's Barista Express Impress, which has a longer warranty but no drip or cold brew. Weigh that against the one-year warranty and reported grinder problems.
Does the Ninja Luxe Café make good espresso?
Reviewers found the dosing accurate, within 0.5 g of 17.5 g, and a US unit more consistent in yield than Breville's Barista Express Impress. On some EU units the ratio setting let shots run long. One Reddit owner wrote “even the first cup of coffee from the Ninja is way better than any lattes at Starbucks!” (r/espresso, July 4, 2026).
Is the Ninja Luxe Café good for beginners?
It is built for them: Barista Assist suggests settings, and the built-in scale weighs each dose, which a reviewer confirmed within 0.5 g. One owner on Reddit wrote “even the first cup of coffee from the Ninja is way better than any lattes at Starbucks!” (r/espresso, July 4, 2026). The catch is the one-year warranty and the grinder faults some owners report.
